Case and function MOD
Nov 18 2006, 11:13 PM EST
I have recently modded my XBOX 360 in a very simple, and slightly degressive way. SInce heat is the quickest way to destroy computers, I have decided to put the 360 inside a pc case, and add fans directly coolers, as well as a few intake and exhaust fans. I then added some lighting and other fancy features. Now many people by now may have many concerns. For starters, power. I added a 400 Watt PC power supply into the PC cases provided slot. I added SPST switches to the front, one for the Power supply, 2 for the cold cathodes. I actually used an X-connect PS that allows me to plugg in only the cables I need. So I fashioned up a special plug I cut from an old power supply that let me only have the wires I needed to power it on and do a few other things. I then added a dashboardw/ card reader, extra USB's via an internally mounted common USB hub, as well as the guts from a portable Hard drive. So basically, I have a cooler running 360, in a PC case, with all the 360 premium features, with 4 USB plugs, a multi card reader, 200 GB Media drive(for music and pictures) cool lighting, and a side tray for a small USB keyboard.

----UPDATE---
Sorry to say, I cannot find the pictures. THis project was never 100% complete due to lack of parts. How far did it get?
360, inside the PC case, powered by the 400W power supply (got rid of the brick) 200 GB media drive for music and movies, Card reader dash for viewing pictures on Digital cards, UV lighing, and finally the add on of LIQIUD COOLING. This dropped the temp 15 degrees. After doing XCM cases for several friends, I decided to do one myself. Since the missing parts made it hard to finish the case, and because I went to rackmount units and the Tower takes up too much room, the new set up will be more practical space wise. The 360 will go back in the case, no fan, with liquid cooling, clear window in the case, UV lighing, and the rest will go into a 2U server case. That includes the 200GB HDD, Card reader, liquid cooling pump, XBOX 360 HD DVD Drive, and the power for all inside and the 360.

I know this isnt as exciting as the PC case all inclusive, but for the reasons I listed, I needed to go back.

Please, do not send any further emails about the PC case 360. If you have questions about case modding, lighting, or any other mods I have done feel free to ask. My pictures are limited, as I am more concerned with returning finished products than I am photographing them.
