should i get 360?

i have been reading online that xbox "720" is coming out in 1.5yrs and another source said in 2013.
i like having the newest stuff and i would hate being left behind again by a console generation. Now i am may MAY *NOTE* be getting an xbox360 soon. But on gamespot they are announcing that microsoft is gonna have a deal on the 360's and make the elite 299 or something like that.
what should i do?
*note the xbox i MAY be getting will be a gift so i can't return it*

idk about the 299 dollars thing but I would just get an Xbox360 Pro. Its cheap, and you can do everything you can do on an Elite With it. Do you find this valuable?

With plans of the new Natal system coming next year (I think) to out shine the Wii, and the recent economy crisis, I don't think MS is gonna release a new console very soon. So my best bet is just get the x360. If your not into backward compatibility and a large hard disc get the low end one, or get the 60gb one like mine for backward compatibility. As far as I know the Elite wins on a larger hard disc (120gb I think) and a black casing (also I think). Anyway you cant go wrong with an X360! Do you find this valuable?

I'd go with a pro.You can buy a bigger hard drive later if you need more space.
I heard the 720 won't come out for a couple of years. Do you find this valuable?
