Microsoft has came out with some sweet games so has sony but this is what concerns me. People with one game can't play all these games GTA 4 came out only for 360 and PS3. This point I'm making is all types of games are coming out for this handheld. Now, my second point is this going to be another psp with just a added mp4 player with internet access. I've heard rumors about HDTV, webcam, and touchscreen but the number one necessity I've heard for is a second analog stick. People say that it's poor design by sony but I believe it was so that they can hurry and beat the DS. In conclusion, I hope that it's not another PSP because It'll be pointless to buy another 250$ PSP gaming system.

I'm truly all for microsoft creating the next handheld game system. Ever since the psp came out I really enjoy it more than xbox 360 and ps3 put together, only the fact that it's portable and has good graphics. I like the fact that you can turn it into a mp3 player, photo gallary, computer(internet access), and movie player. If microsoft does put out a xbox handheld, it surly has to beat sony's psp or they might as well can the ideal. But like any videogame freak out there, their must be millions of questions out there about the new handheld such as: " will the new xbox handheld have better graphics, and better games than sony's psp. Will the new handheld have more and improved features like HD Movies or downloading music right to your handheld". There is alot to be done with this project if there decided to go to war with the psp. Me personally I would like to see: free online play, able to play on the tv but in full screen instead of just half the screen like the psp, download music like a portable itunes, new and improved graphics that matches with the xbox 360's graphics, free internet access( maybe if there was a add-on device where you can get internet everywhere like verizon wireless broadband instead of using a home router). If there deciding to do this than alot of people are counting on these features so it can blow the psp out of the water. All I have to say is good luck to microsoft, it'll be a challenge.

the picture on the bottom looks best and it would kill the PSP and Nintendo DS, but it HAS to have a second analog stick and Xbox Live, and if it wants to beat PSP it needs to have internet access and you should be able to log into your gamertag from it.....but even if it has all that if it has the same problems the 360 has with breaking ALL THE TIME! it isnt worth the money i've had to get my 360 repaired 3 times and now it has the 3 red rings microsoft better fix this 5H1T because its getting me pissed, and this thing with xbox where you have to buy a $100 wireless adapter is dumb too.... but i still say it could destroy the compition if microsoft doesnt rush it... feel free to add me on xbox live my Tag is FeltBmXeR057...i play COD 4, Gears of War, and a little Halo 3

PSP screen gave me a headache so I sold it. Nothing beats my 52" screen! Even if I could use an xbox on those long overseas trips. I'd pass and I would imagine that Microsft is feeling the waters but will find the market not to be lucrative enough. Small handhelds are always a let down.

I could see microsoft making a handheld game system but I'm not sure it'd be very successful. While they'd probably have some great games.... Halo prtable anyone... they have a tendancy to make things kinda bulky. That would probably deter people... but if done well they might give Gameboy, DS, and PSP a run for their money.

I certainly believe the rumors do hold some truth but I'm sure the final product will look nothing like those abominations posted above (no offense :D).
Although it would be a good move on Microsoft's part to enter the handheld sector, I hope they would take the following into consideration: -is it a an Ipod killer with game functionality or is it a PSP/DS killer with music playback? I think this is an important question especially in terms of designing the final product and how they are going to brand it. Personally I think they should go the way of the ipod. That itself is a bigger threat to Microsoft. Although the PSP is a great product and has beautiful games on it, that in itself is its downfall (I believe). The reason's I enjoyed Gameboy and co. was mainly because of the simplicity of the games that came along with. It's great that I can play grand theft auto on PSP but I would much rather play it on a TV. To put it into words, its too rich a game to invest in a PSP and settle for a relatively small screen. If there was a video component to then hook it up to a TV -perhaps. But again, I would rather just get a PS2 or an xbox360. -Make sure they have plenty of 3rd party support. -Do not go the UMD way for movies, we live in a digital world. Make them downloadable from PC or wirelessly. They may have to consider mobile phones which are being constantly revamped to include ever more functions. If they try to stretch the product too much, they will dilute their marketing message. Too much emphasis on gaming, people might not switch over from ipod. If its going up against PSP, it better work with 360 and play movies sans catridge like device. And perhaps as cute as a DS lite.

Journalist Dean Takahashi comments on his blog that the Seattle Corporation is working on a handheld platform similar to Sony's PSP handheld, and is currently being headed by Xbox 360 evangelist J Allard. Citing sources at low-power chipmaker Transmeta, Takahashi says that up to thirty of the company's engineers began work on the device in 2005.
