Xbox 360 Freeze due to hardware failure after recent updateThis is a featured page

It took 5 mos for my system to fail. Called tech support and they tried to palcate me with some bogus plug/unplug garbage. Its frustrating because i really expected MS to really put some quality into this 360, especially at the price. Here I sit with about $1500.00 investment and they want to give me a 25% discount for their poor quality. It almost seems like they did it on purpose to make up for the $150+ they were losing per unit on the price. So what does the cheaper 360 cost as opposed the expensive PS3? Looks like MS has screwed us all...

Yo i have had my 360 since last Christmas and mostly played halo 2 which doesnt run as hard as new games. Shat just started givin me the 3 red light hardware failure. 140 bucks is really what they ask for if you dont have warranty? why couldnt they just make 360 last like the original xbox.

SteddyNX01 Possible fix for this problem 1 Aug 19 2007, 3:47 AM EDT by SteddyNX01

If you are experiencing this problem, this may work for you... It helped me... only after deleting my Burnout Revenge Savegame and ringing XBOX360 support (I'm in Australia by the way).

Try signing out of any active profiles and removing any discs from the drive, then using the following button combination, reset you XBOX360 hard drive cache:

X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

Then sign back in to the profile and reload your game, this may work, if not, turn the unit off and leave it off for approx 2 minutes and then repeat the above sequence, again logging out of any gamer profiles before resetting the cache.

Once again, the reset cache button combination is as follows:

X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

Good luck and I hope this helps you out...

Two of my brothers and I have had a 360 and all have failed. My brother in law had his for about a year until it failed and then had to pay out the s to get it fixed. My brother had his for about a week and it failed, but returned it right away and got a new one from Wal-Mart. My 360 worked fine until 2 days ago and now won't even come on. I had to call for support only to talk to someone speaking a form of english that I can't interpret. Now I have to send it to microsoft so that they can fingerf%$ck it so I may play it for another six months give or take. The only people I know who own a 360 have had it fail, all of them! Go for the Sony or the Wii and you might get your money"s worth.
