Uno
Ah, Uno. The game you played with your little brother during those long car trips. It's back and somewhat slickified for the XBox Live experience, but for the most part it's the same game you grew up playing. The object of the game is to be the first of four players to play all of the cards in your hand, but these aren't ordinary playing cards. Instead, the Uno deck is four colors (red, blue, green, and yellow), and with card face values ranging from 0 to 9. To play a card, it must match either the color or the value of the current card in play, so if the card in question is a red nine, you can either play a red card or a nine. Simple, no? Action cards such as Draw Two and Skip keep gameplay from being too simple, boring, or predictable, as they'll force other players to draw extra cards or miss their turn altogether.
Though it may seem somewhat silly to play a card game on Live, it's actually a perfect match. Most card games are best when played with at least four players, something somewhat difficult to arrange in real life. For the Arcade version, you can either play offline against AI opponents or online against genuine human beings. The AI is fairly smart and will keep the game challenging, so don't worry about the game falling flat if it's 3 a.m. and you can't find anyone to play with.
At this time, the only extra content available is the 35th Anniversary card set, which adds a new wrinkle into the basic gameplay. Inserted into the deck are the "35" action cards: after that card is played, players must lay down either a 3 or a 5 for gameplay to continue. If you don't happen to have a 3 or a 5, you take a card and lose your turn. It's a fun variation on the regular gameplay.
