Play and Charge Review
When I got the 360, I decided with a friend to purchase all wireless controllers, along with them I purchased batteries for three of them and a play and charge kit. The play and charge kit comes with it's own battery but works on any 360 wireless controller... at least the microsoft standard controllers that have rechargable battery packs. The rechargable battery packs on their own are about $11.99 with the play and charge kit floating somewhere around $19.99. (I got mine for $17.99 at Circuit City) The play and charge kit comes with a rechargable battery (as I just mentioned) and a cord that plugs into one of the 360 USB slots and your wireless controller with the battery in it. There is a little light indicator to notify you when the controller is fully charged and to make sure that the controller is charging you have to make sure the controller is plugged in while the system is on, you can then turn it off, as long as the 360 is still plugged in.
A lot of the time I am just playing by myself and I wll switch the controller that is plugged in around, and if my friends come over and we use up the juice in our controllers we can just plug them in to recharge... although due to the 2 USB ports I believe the most you can have is 2. I only have one and it does come in handy. The batteries will stay charged for about 30 hours by themselves but if you dn't have a play and charge kit they are just expensive batteries that may last a bit longer. So if you have wireless controllers or are going toget ome, I'd reccomend getting the rechargable battery packs and if you have those then the play and charge kit is really neccesary.
