Plantronics GAMECOM™ X30 for Xbox 360 Review (Jmann2k1)

OK,

Let me start by saying that we all know that the Microsoft brand Xbox 360 headset isn't the greatest thing out there. Having said that, however, this product will make you appreciate what Microsoft included in your premium bundle that much more.

Comfort: 1/10

This is probably the most comfortable microphone/headset that you'll ever find. In fact, you'd swear that you're not even wearing one while using this. So why did I give it such an incredibly low score? Because it's NOT going to be on your head. The headset just falls off, and absolutely refuses to stay on your head.

Mechanics: 0/10

What is a microphone headset supossed to do? Communicate with others, using your voice, obviously. That said, this is the most atrocious piece of hardware that I've ever used, and I own a Virtual Boy and U-Force. Besides falling off your face like mentioned above, in the comfort section, you cannot hear others very well, nor can they hear you. In order to get my friend to be able to hear me, I had to take the whole thing off and yell into the mic, literally. In order to hear others, I tried unsuccessfully to cram the entire bud into my ear, which besides being ineffective, also hurt.

Overall: 1/10

If your initial headset that came with your 360 broke, do yourself a favor. Don't pick this up as as replacement. Rather, save ten dollars, not to mention a Hell of a lot of hassle, and buy another Microsoft one. Just be more careful with it this time.
