New Peripherals on the Way for 360This is a featured page

When sifting through E3 coverage, the average gamer tends not to pay much attention to announcements about peripherals (and rightly so). Now that the dust has settled, however, it's time to shine a little light on some of the goodies coming our way later this year.

First up is the XBox Live Vision Camera, which wil come bundled with a wired headset, the surprisingly popular Arcade title Uno (isn't that the game I played with my cousins when I was 10?) and a month of Live Gold service, all for the low, low price of $39.99. I thought the whole point of playing online was that you could do it without worrying about bad hair days, but some people are just exhibitionists, I suppose. That's due out in September. For those of you already planning your Christmas shopping, here's a list of what's due out this holiday season:

  • New faceplates featuring Halo, Forza 2, & Viva Pinata for $19.99 each
  • Wireless headest with a 30-foot range for $59.99
  • 256MB Memory Unit for $59.99
  • Wireless gaming receiver for $19.99 (but it'll go on sale in Winter 2007, unlike the others, probably around the month of February)
The wireless gaming receiver lets you use wireless 360 peripherals (like the wireless controller) on your PC. Hot!

I have to say that the wireless gaming reciever sound like the best thing to me. I know that I mostly only play rts games on the PC because I don't want to go thropugh the hassel of buying a seperate computer controller... anyone else like that?
Do you find this valuable?
