Naki 88200 Review - hotdrop

Overview
The Gpak is designed to be a portability solution for your Xbox 360. It allows you to conveniently pack up your Xbox 360 and move it from one place to another with minimal packing and unpacking. It was designed by company called Naki International which since this products release seems to have disappeared without a trace.

General Impressions
Overall I found the Gpak for the Xbox 360 didn’t live up my expectations. I was expecting the Gpak around carrying solution that would be able to house all my Xbox 360 components without the need for another bag. Unfortunatly I found myself having to carry a bag or a backpack wherever I went to store all the Xbox 360 components that wouldn’t fit inside the carrying case such as the fourth controller and the power supply. As such I found using the case to be just as convenient as just putting the console in the backpack to carry it around.

Another problem with the Gpak is that the 360 kept sliding around the inside of the case and the flimsy Velcro strap seemed to do very little to keep it in place. The Xbox 360 actually slid around in the 360 case so much that I eventually began to suspect that the case may not have actually been designed for the 360. Putting that theory to the test I, placed my original Xbox in the case, and surprisingly enough it fit perfectly no sliding or anything.

Console hook up
Because the Xbox 360 keeps sliding around inside the Gpak it becomes difficult to plug up the 360 as the system will slide back and forth and rotate when you apply any force to plug in the cables. I found it especially difficult to plug in the power cord as you have to apply considerable amount of force to the corner of the 360 which causes the 360 to rotate inside the case. This becomes a fairly large problem as once the Xbox 360 rotates enough in the case you can actually start to bend your power adapter if you push too hard. The only way I found to avoid this problem is to support the Xbox 360 from the other side of the case which tends to be uncomfortably inconvenient.

Ease of portability

The Gpak is quite convenient when it comes to carrying most of you’re your accessories. I found the disk sleeves on the inside lid to be very convenient as I didn’t have to carry a disk binder around with me. Unfortunately the lack of a power supply compartment becomes a serious problem with this case as you find yourself having to find somewhere else to put power supply. I tried a few times to carry the power supply in one hand and the case in another but that was quite inconvenient and I still ended up having to carry a bag or something for the fourth controller that dose not fit inside the Gpak either.
