Tears for Fears said it best: Shout. Shout. Let it all out. The Gears of War team came up with a nifty little feature that makes voice chat a little bit more interesting. When one of the guys from NexTechNews was reading tthisthis Gears preview they noticed that Epic found a way to mix voice chat with lip synch so that you can actually see the lips of your character move as you are shouting in your crappy 360 headset. And you’ll be able to use voice commands to hand out orders to your team, pretty awesome. NexTechNews said it best when they said that details like these that make the difference between a ‘good’ and an ‘awesome’ game.
There’s also something to be said about the teamwork that involves contact. The game will make use of microphone support, so you can shout commands amongst your team and keep in constant contact, and the voice recognition system and real-time lip syncing promise to keep the communication as smooth as possible, all while it actually looks like you’re screaming to your team instead of just keeping a stiff face. Leave it to Epic to implement little details like that and make them shine that much more.Gears of War is expected in the 4th quarter of 2006 exclusively on Xbox 360. This game will be like Halo but not a run and gun so find cover and blind fire alot. The best part of this game are the secret levels.
