This is a port of Final Fantasy XI for the PC. I played the beta version of this for the 360, and truly hated it with a passion. It looks bad, doesn't sound spectacular, except for a bit of the music (but come on it's a Final Fantasy game), and when using the Xbox 360 contoller to do everything (including entering text), everything just feels like a total chore in the game. It's not fun to play at all. Besides this, you cannot use voice chat in the game, except for the one on one voice chat that Xbox Live 360 supports anyway. This means that you CANNOT chat with an entire party that you form, using voice. You HAVE to use the text chat. Perhaps, using a keyboard and mouse with this version of the game, it wouldn't be so bad. I bought the game on PC after trying the 360 beta to try it out and see if it was any better. To my surprise, it was. The game, itself, really wasn't any better, for the 360 version is a complete port, after all, but it's just presented better on the PC.

Graphics: 3/10 (for an Xbox 360 game)

The graphics are the same as on the PS2 and PC, just in widescreen. True, the graphics are presented in a higher resolution than on the PS2, but it doesn't matter when they look like crap anyway. A low resolution picture of a pile of crap doesn't look any worse than a high resolution picture of a pile of crap. You can quote me on that too.

Sound: (3/10)

Points for music only. Everything else just sucks. Generic sounds galore. It's like there was no effort put into this aspect.

Gameplay: (1/10)

No points for effort or ease of use here. I just gave one point because you CAN move your character using the analogue stick. The fact that you have to attack your enemies by selecting attack through a multiple option menu (meaning that attack is a few clicks into the menu, not immediately selectable) is just ridiculous. Let's also not forget the fact that unless you're in a party, you cannot attack the same enemy as someone else... Not even to help them out of a jam.

Replay Value: (3/10)

I gave a few points here because there is a lot of customization here, and you can basically do what you want to, but really, why play this in the first place? Right now, if you have a PC, pick up an MMORPG for that instead. There are many other options that just aren't as painful as this game is to play. If you REALLY want to play FFXI, then pick up the PC version. This game was designed for that kind of setup. Seriously though, I recommend checking into other games like City of Heroes/Villians, World of Warcraft, or RF Online.

Overall: (2/10 Not an average)

Why, just why? I really don't need to explain anything else here. This game just isn't very good, and what really sucks is that even if you DO end up buying it, you'll have to pay again every month just to keep on "playing". Do yourself a favor and buy something worthwhile like Oblivion instead. At least until a better MMORPG comes out for the Xbox 360.
