Description
Dead or Alive 4 is the latest game released in the Dead or Alive series. Starting life on consoles with Dead or Alive 1, the game centers on fast-paced combo/reversal gameplay, and now integrates the experience into the online realm. New to this installment is the Halo-based Spartan character.
Game play modes
Story Mode: Players pick a fighter of their choice and enter into the game's main story mode. The player then goes through several rounds of player-versus-computer bouts before reaching the final stage. Once the final stage is complete, the player will see the ending story of their character played out.
Time Attack Mode: Players pick a fighter, or a team of fighters, and enter into a mode that records the time it takes to finish all rounds. The single-player portion consists of eight fights, while the tag-team portion consists of five. Once the mode is complete, the player will receive a results screen to view their scores.
Versus Mode: This mode allows two human competitors, or a human and computer competitor, to face off against one another in either single or tag-team formats.
Survival Mode: Players begin this mode with a given amount of health and must face countless computer opponents until the players' health runs out. During the course of the mode, players will be able to score points based on their clear time and any items that the player collected.
Team Battle Mode: The player builds a team consisting of up to seven fighters and then takes it into battle against a computer or human opponent with a team of the same side. This plays with the same rules as a versus mode match.
Sparring Mode: Players will find this mode basically the training mode of Dead or Alive 4. Inside, the player can set the routine of their computer opponent to complement the techniques that the player wishes to practice.
Battle Viewer: This mode is a theatre that plays the gamers saved replays from previous matches.
DOA online: Players can use this mode to connect to Xbox Live where the player can form or join existing lobbies. Inside these lobbies, players face off head-to-head with the set parameters, deciding who stays on to the next match and who sets down. This mode offers many statistical options including a ranking system.
