360 Splurge is a website dedicated to video games. Primarily 360 Splurge concentrates on the Xbox 360 butdoes have some reviews for other formats as well as a community forum where members can discuss various topics. 360 Splurge provides news and reviews as well as unique information that covers Backwards Compatibility (that has been personally tested by their staff for over 120+ games), VGA Compatibility for original Xbox games and also a Regional Compatibility list amongst other useful information.

360 Splurge was launched in June 2007 by Clare (EffEmmGee) and Benjamin (BBIAJ) with the addition of Victor (Verflucht), Adam (Goingslow) and Jake (Geofortean) in the following months.

History

Initially the 360 Splurge focused on Xbox 360 games quickly expanding to multiple formats to accommodate most gamers and members.
There isn't really a reason for the site being called 'Splurge' other than that its random and unique.

Main Site

As you visit the main Portal page to 360 Splurgeyou will find links to recent gaming news as well as reviews and the previously mentioned Backwards Compatibility,VGA Compatibility and Regional Compatibility list amongst other useful information.

Features

360 Splurge has different areas for various topics of interests. The most recent three reviews are always available on the Portal page with the rest all together in the Reviews section easily located within the navigation links. Recent news articles regarding the Xbox 360 platform are all blogged with two days worth of links also located on the Portal page.
Backwards Compatibility,VGA Compatibility and Regional Compatibility lists are 460 Splurge's unique features. Not unique in that no-one else has them. Unique in that we personally hand test well over 120+ original Xbox games and report on anything we find, this is unlike most other sites that copy the list from Xbox.com's Backward Compatibility list and take it as truth that its accurate.

Reviews and Rating System

Since the 360 Splurge launched we have written game reviews for recently released titles. 360 Splurge may consider a Retrospective Review section for older games that may deserve mentioning.Reviews are given marks out of 10 for the following categories:

Graphics
Sound
Re-playability

With an overall average score at the end. Small comments are given for each of these categories to explain their reasons for the score.

Forums

The forums for 360 Splurge has undergone a few changed since the site launched in June 2007, initially it was designed for members to organise game nights on the Xbox 360, failing that those sections were removed and recently replaced with a Game With... section for Staff members to designate a game, day/night and time of an event, it would then be up the members to check when game nights are happening and be there.

Game Nights (Game With...)

New to the 360 Splurge is a section on their forums for Game Nights. As the site focuses mainly on the Xbox 360 platform, this section is designed for the staff of 360 Splurge to plan out a Game Night. They will announce the Day, Time, and Game and members will have to check to see what is planned and turn up. There is no obligations and members will not be looked down upon in they don't turn up. 360 Splurge is not a Clan.

Staff Profiles

Coming soon will be a new page, 'Meet The Splurgers'. This will be a profile page where the 360 Splurge staff members will introduce themselves so members can see who is behind the name.
